Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents of Winona Ryder gave her the name of the town she grew up in. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father was from an ethnically Jewish origin. Uria is Ryder's younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County in California, when she was just seven years old. There was no electricity. Ryder who was an avid reader when she was 12 years old, became a reader due to the fact that Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder took acting classes when Ryder was 12years old in the American Conservatory Theatre. In 1986 she landed her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas when she was just 15 years old. Ryder faced bullying in high school. She hoped that her acting career would alter the way she dealt with bullying. Sadly, this didn't occur. But she continued to pursue her dreams. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major breakthrough. Ryder went on to have successful roles. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
